USB 3.0 is ten times faster; get it in 2010

The most interesting item in this article is an aside toward the end.  I’m not usually a fan of government interference, but China’s got an idea that I hope catches on: they want to require mobile phone manufacturers to use a standard USB connector for the charger.  This would keep lots and lots of e-junk out of landfills.

Drive advance fuels terabyte era

Hitachi expects to be shipping 4TB hard drives by 2011.

UPDATE: PC World says it will be by 2009.
