How to block Facebook Beacon

Facebook’s great and all, but their much-hyped new advertising platform goes a bit too far. I don’t really need them blabbing about my Christmas purchases to people I might be trying to surprise. All you need to do to permanently opt out of this little “feature” is to load up the BlockSite add-on for Firefox and set it to block http://www.facebook.com/beacon/*
