President George W. Obama →
Obama is once again reaffirming the very same Bush-era policies that he once ran against. This time, it’s the unconstitutional policy that allows Homeland Security officers to search travelers’ laptops with no suspicion of wrongdoing. Does he think he’ll be able to keep this up and win another term? Sadly, he probably can.

Stellarium Turns Your Computer Screen into a... →
This is beyond cool. Stellarium lets you view the stars from any location on Earth (and off Earth, I’ve found) at any time. You can zoom WAY in to see nebulas and rotating planets. Stellarium will also label and outline the constellations. Free download, available for Linux, Mac, and Windows. Note: Stellarium comes preloaded with lots of stars, but if you explore the options menu, you...

GM Says Volt Will Get 230 MPG →
I. Want. One. The main difference between the Volt and today’s hybrids (e.g. Prius) is that the electric motor always turns the wheels.  When the battery is run down (after ~40 miles), the gasoline engine is used not as a means of propulsion, but as a generator to run the electric motor and charge the battery on-the-fly.  This way, the motor can run smoothly and efficiently, without having...

Windows XP Login Logout Loop (Virus) →
If you find that upon logging into Windows you are immediately logged out without even a peek at your desktop, you are probably suffering from the effects of a virus that nukes some Windows System files or the registry values that point to them.  The fix is pretty easy.  Just take a look at the link above.  You may need a Windows install CD (or in my case, a Linux LiveCD) to restore userinit.exe...
