In Synaptic, remove all openoffice packages.
Download the tarball here and extract (get the Linux .deb version for your architecture).
Go into the DEBS folder that you extracted and enter sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Now enter the desktop-integration subfolder and execute sudo dpkg -i *.deb again to populate the system...
