Arbor Brewing Co. Sacred Cow IPA
Pours murky brown-orange with a small white head and lots of floaties in the glass.  This beer isn’t much to look at, but there’s a nice hop bite that lingers in the finish.  Overall, this is a solid Michigan IPA (the best there is, if you ask me) and I would buy it again, even though it doesn’t quite stand up to my beloved Two Hearted Ale.

Hacker-Pschorr Weisse
Pours hazy yellow-orange with a big white head.  Malty banana aroma, fruity and spicy flavor.  This is exactly what a Hefeweisen should taste like.

Six Degrees of Wikipedia
I was recently challenged to find a path across Wikipedia from Santa Claus, IN to Waterboarding. It took about five minutes: Santa Claus, IN Theme Park World War II Prisoner-of-war Camp Hanoi Hilton John McCain Waterboarding Six Hops…that’s it. Afterwards, I found (unsurprisingly) that other geeks have made this into a quasi-sport. Cool.

All News is Local →
Google is releasing a new feature today that will allow you to get a customized news feed by city name or ZIP code. They don’t just look at the byline or source. They actually analyze (imperfectly) the text of the stories to figure out what location the news is about.

TrueCrypt 5.0 Released →
Among the new features: Entire-partition encryption: you can encrypt the hard disk (or specific partitions thereof) so that it asks for a password at boot time. Companies that let sensitive information walk out the front door on employee laptops would do well to give this a try. Support for Mac OS X A new GUI for the Linux version

Microsoft Bids $44.6 Billion for Yahoo →
Wow. I think we saw it coming, but it still seems unbelievable now that it’s here. At a 62 percent premium over their stick price, and with the trouble Yahoo has been in of late, I can’t imagine that they’ll turn it down. This would also mean that del.icio.us and Flickr will become Microsoft properties. I thought about exporting my links when Yahoo acquired del.icio.us, but...
