VMware Tip: Arrow keys not working in Player v2.5 →
When running a Windows VM on VMware server (on Ubuntu Linux in my case), you may find that some of your keys (arrows, page up, page down, etc.) aren’t mapped properly. Add the following to /etc/vmware/config and you should be all set: xkeymap.keycode.108 = 0x138 # Alt_R xkeymap.keycode.106 = 0x135 # KP_Divide xkeymap.keycode.104 = 0x11c # KP_Enter xkeymap.keycode.111 = 0x148 # Up ...

Ubuntu Tip: Fixing ext3 "No Journal On Filesystem"... →
I rebuilt my main desktop PC tonight.  I’m running LVM on top of RAID1.  The problem is, the second time I booted the machine my main 250GB data partition went belly-up.  The boot-time error advised me to run fsck, which I did.  Everything looked good, but I still couldn’t mount the volume.  sudo mount -a gave me this error: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on...

Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown →
I’ll make this simple: this is the worst beer I’ve had in a long time.  Stay away.  It tastes like someone dropped some French Vanilla mix into an [insert cheap macro “dark” beer here].  The main problem is that it tastes so artificial.  Stick with Leinie’s  Red and Sunset Wheat instead, as I’ve said before.

Google may offer Chrome preinstalled on new PCs →
People only use IE because it’s the browser that comes with their PC and they don’t know any different.  I can count on my fingers the number of fools I’ve seen that actually use it on purpose.

Enabling Wireless in Ubuntu on the Dell Inspiron... →
I love Ubuntu.  That being said, they can’t reasonably expect a normal user to find and execute this procedure to get their wireless working.

Southern Tier - Unearthly Imperial IPA →
Pours hazy copper.  Clingy lacing.  Hopped beyond belief, just how I like it.  11% alcohol, but you can’t tell.  This is a magnificent IPA.
